SweetPro Feeds is proud to introduce EquiLix with the FlaxFactor. We’ve formulated EquiLix especially for horses, adding both stabilized milled flax and ProBiotein. Today’s horse owner is more quality conscious than ever because they know good quality produces better results. Those results come in many forms. Some are visual such as a shiny hair coat and bright eye and improved health. Others are reflected in better performance for the working animal. In the end it comes down to economics and that’s where SweetPro’s new EquiLix shines brightly. A healthy horse looks better and costs less to maintain. Now with EquiLix feed efficiency boosts, the cost of maintaining your horse in top condition can be reduced.
How Do We do it? SweetPro pioneered the solidification of fermentation feeds such as distillers grain into solid blocks and now we’ve developed our own new fermentation process to produce a unique “blend additive” call ProBiotein. Yeast and enzyme levels in ProBiotein greatly enhance the digestion of forages, so horses get more out their hay. Organic complex trace minerals help improve bioavailability of those important minerals. Plus we’re adding PreBiotics, Diatomaceous Earth and the FlaxFactor—stabilized milled flax with its high levels of healthy omega 3 fatty acids.
Feed Directions
(1) Before feeding EquiLix blocks for the first time, animals should be well fed and have access to plenty of clean fresh water.
(2) Have one lick block available for each 5 to 15 head of horses.
(3) Provide and adequate source of good quality forage at all times.
(4) Place lick blocks near areas where animals loaf and (if practical) 100 yards from water.
(5) Make EquiLix blocks available in more than one location in large pastures or where more than one water source is available.
(6) If animals run out of EquiLix, repeat from step one.
(7) Other salt and minerals maybe provide free choice to balance specific rations.
(8) A two-week adaptation will be required to establish a base consumption rate.
(9) The above feeding directions are general guidelines and will vary with the overall feeding conditions. Always adapt to your specific requirements.

More Information ProBiotein is a proprietary blend-additive consisting of yeast culture, prebiotic oligosaccharides, enzymes, and protein isolates.
The Yeast in ProBiotein, cultured on a media of wheat, oats, barley malt and flax, is rich in biotin and other nutrients to aid digestion. The Oligosaccharides, often called “prebiotics,” because they feed the beneficial probiotic bacteria, are a key part of the ProBiotein additive. These prebiotics help maintain good digestive tract health.
Enzymes, the catalysts of digestion are included in a fibrinolytic, amylolytic & proteolytic array to assist fiber, protein and mineral utilization.
Flax helps in many ways. The oil is dense energy which is high in Omega 3 fatty acid content. Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid often missing in modern diets. Flax is also among the richest sources of lignans, which help improve immune function. Organic complexed minerals are featured. Zinc, copper and manganese are complexed, or bound to protein instead of other minerals, assuring high bioavailability.
EquiPride also includes ethyl alcohol to raise palatability, enhance fiber digestion and add another non-starch energy source. Now with feed efficiency boost, the cost of maintaining your horse in top condition can be reduced.
Look for up to 25% improvement in forage feed efficiency with SweetPro’s EquiPride.
EQUIPRIDE as a digestive aide consists largely of externally processed ingredients that have been pre- digested for the horse and improves the nutrient utilization of the horse’s entire ration, as well as adding key nutrients.
Horses are hind-gut, foraging herbivores with a comparatively small stomach. A horse left to it’s natural foraging patterns will graze on high fiber grasses and hay many hours of the day allowing its small stomach to balance acid and enzyme digestion with the fermentation digestion of the cecum and colon (hind gut).
Because so many horses are boarded in stalls and non-pasture confines, they are fed in shorter time periods and with more concentrated energy feeds such as grain that is high in starch.
This is where SweetPro® Feeds EquiPride™ is helpful in aiding the digestion of the typical stable diet.
The amylases added to your horse’s diet via EQUIPRIDE include both alpha amylase and glucoamylase (aspergillus oryzae extract) to help mitigate problems. Additionally, there are other enzymes helping digest fiber, protein and minerals. Blended with the enzymes are oligosaccharides that help feed the beneficial bacteria and help keep their populations high enough to exclude pathogenic bacteria from getting a foothold.
